This is the view from our apartments in Pompeii. We are located slightly out of the town, it’s about a 2 mile walk to site, but twice a day it does get to be tiring. So far Southern Italy hasn’t been terrible. It is very pretty here, surrounded by mountains, and though we cannot see the sea from here, any coast town is close. The circumvesuviana is very helpful in getting us back and forth to Sorrento on weekends.
Though both towns are very touristy, they are nice, especially for a weekend get away. Sorrento was slightly expensive for staying or restuarants but there is an amazing vegetarian and vegan resturant. The town and beach is very easy to get to, and the prices are worth the view at least.
